Accreditation

IFTA’s Accreditation Director reviews requests from Member societies that want their own examination programs to be accredited as comparable with the IFTA Certified Financial Technician (CFTe), examination standard. Accredited examination programs may carry IFTA’s CFTe logo on their certification materials and successful examinees will be registered as CFTe holders in IFTA’s Global TA Database. An accreditation fee of $50 USD is charged for each new registered CFTe holder passing an IFTA accredited examination.

The accreditation process requires a set of information to be provided by the Member society to the IFTA Accreditation Director for review, including; syllabus, reading material, various exam samples with examiners comments, procedures, and other items.

Upon review of the material by IFTA, the Member Society will be advised as to whether its application meets IFTA’s standards – based on IFTA’s CFTe level I & II examinations and procedures.

Accredited Member examination programs are subject to periodic reviews in order to ensure that standards are maintained. Such reviews also allow developments in IFTA’s CFTe syllabus to be incorporated in IFTA Accredited Member society examination programs on an ongoing basis.

A formal Accreditation Agreement is entered into between IFTA and all IFTA Accredited Member societies in which the roles and responsibilities of IFTA and the Member Society are detailed.
